Mr. Trew selected Top 50 Band Director

Mr. Trew was recently honored as a Top 50 Director Who Makes a Difference for 2012 (Only one director from each state is selected).  The article just came out today in School Band and Orchestra Magazine; see the attached PDF scans to read the article.

This is the third time our music program has been honored by SBO Magazine.  In 2003, we were featured on the cover for our use of music technology.  In 2000, 2006, 2008 and 2009, our district Music Department was selected as a top 100 Communities for Music Education by MENC Magazine.

Great job Mr. Trew!

Thank you BMS parents!

Thank you to all of the BMS parents who visited our school this week for Parents Day!  We appreciate your support and interest in the success of your child at school.  Your involvement in your child's education is one of the most important factors in their success and we are proud to have had so many parents in attendance.  Thank you for your support!

Steak dinner to benefit TAG Space Camp trip

Please reserve December 7th at 7:00 p.m. on your calendars and join the gifted students of BMS for a steak dinner and an evening of fun at Bolivar High School!  This is the year that the BMS 6-8th grade TAG (Talented and Gifted) classes go to Space Camp.  As a group, we are hosting a dinner/auction to help raise funds for this one-in-a-lifetime experience.  Come and have a steak dinner and support this great group of kids.

The talented and gifted (TAG) students at BMS get only one opportunity to go to SPACE CAMP during their time in middle school. We need to raise close to $15,000 to send all the TAG students. With just a little help from you, we can reach our goal.  Dinner tickets are just $12.50 per person for a steak served with 2 sides, a roll, and a drink.

The dinner will be an emceed event consisting of a full steak dinner with all the fixings, a silent auction, dessert auction and several door prizes. We will mention our corporate sponsors and thank them for their participation multiple times throughout the evening. We will also run a slide presentation showing our TAG students at your location.

For more information contact the BMS office at 326-3811 or Mrs. Roberts via email at sroberts@bolivarschools.org
